AQUA OLYMPICS Finisher Special Author’s Note: Hello again everyone. This is Robert. As some of you know, the characters we use here have also appeared in scuba fights both in text and just in normal conversation between the three of us. To give you more of an insight into what we think of these characters, we put together this special to explain a bit of their fighting styles and the finishing maneuvers we thought they’d use. This is just a quick intermission, so catch your breath and relax before the Aqua Olympics continues. Cubbi, from Brian For Cubbi, his small stature represents his greatest weakness. It shows that his strength and actual fighting abilities are not very developed. However, his speed is still an asset to him, and with it, Cubbi was able to find a way to combat his opponent's advantages. As you can see in these clips below of previous battles, Cubbi does a lot of dodging and weaving, but his actual attacks do very little damage. (clip changes) But watch here, as one of his dodges actually brought him behind his opponent. Cubbi then proceeded to pounce on the opponent from behind, grab their aqualung, and use the cord attached to it to try and choke them out. The choke slowly took the foe out, and won him the match. When asked about it later, Cubbi mentioned that the move "was purely done on instinct. I had just kept dodging about but I wasn't getting anything done myself. And then it hit me that as long as he was still breathing, he was gonna keep swinging at me. So when I got back there, I just reacted and went for his air." Louie, from Brian Louie has been renowned for his balanced abilities in underwater combat, (various clips shown of his kicks, punches and fast dodges) making him one of the best at this competition. However, when he devised his finishing technique, he knew that was a big part of what makes him such a dangerous foe. "I feel that my kicks are my best weapon, and many times I've been able to double the other guy over with them. This leaves them open, and that's when I stun their oxygen supply." Louie's Forward Stunner has proven to be just as effective as the reverse stunner of popular professional wrestlers. But what really stuns the competition is that the hit is not only quick, popping the aqualung and all of his opponent's air out, but that Louie has been able to pull it off from a number of different depths in the water. (various clips shown of Louie's technique from at, 3 feet above, and 6 feet above the ocean floor) "I know that from seeing the move on television, it has to hit hard, and the most effective location for that is at the floor of the tank. But I know that I'm rarely going to be on the floor when I use this move. So, when I hit the kick to slow them down, I have to make the quick adjustment on my weight belt so I can sink fast and drag them down with me." Tummi, from Trevor Tummi, unlike our previous two spotlights, is renowned not for his speed or agility, but rather pure size and strength. His large girth is very well known throughout the competition, and very feared. His grappling holds, big right hands, and his thighs are highlights of his standard offense. (Clips from matches showing these are shown) However, he came up with his finisher on a chance happening one day he was with Cubbi. He basicially accidentally farted while they were in a small room. But the thing was, this was abnormally strong, and Cubbi wound up choking like crazy untill he fell unconscious. "After things cleared up from that, I decided I had just found my finisher." Tummi was the first in the junior division to use a fart as a finishing manuever. It had been used in the standard adult division before, but Tummi was the first junior to use it in a match. Before he actually hits it, he also turns weight belt to max strength, exposes his butt by opening the rear end of his full body swimsuit, and does a sit squash on his opponent's chest. "That hurts them a lot. Then, I edge my way up onto the opponent's face, and let it go! Gets them every time, unless they're immune to farting altogether, which I haven't met anyone able to do yet." (Clip shown of Tummi doing this.) Several junior fighters have basicially copied or made varitations on this. So, what's the secret of Tummi's farting power? "3 cans of beans, 2 burritos, and anything else I can gobble down an hour before I hit the water. Simple, right?", the gummi says with a smile. Theodore, from Trevor Theodore's move is basicially a fart, like Tummi's. He's not considered to be very strong in the competition, but he does higher than average strength, especailly with his weight He came about the finish a little differently, of course. "I saw it done on a fight on TV one day, and I thought I might be able to use it too. So the next time we were at a league practice pool, I asked Alvin to let me try a move on him, not telling him exactly what it was, for I knew he'd never let me try what I had planned if he knew. So bascially, keeping it short, I did it at the bottom, and found a finish for myself." Theodore, a lot of times, doesn't use the squash and just goes right to the fart on the face. So, how has the way he discovered the move affected his relationship with Alvin? "He didn't appreciate it, of course, but it slid, as things always do between the three of us." Alvin, from Robert Alvin's finisher developed quite by accident one day, as he will be the first to claim. "My brothers and I were out in the pool practicing some maneuvers when I got this real bad stomachache. Let me tell you ...Brittany's chili dogs and root beer, no matter how good separately, just do not mix. And yes, I know someone will ask, I did wait a half hour after eating. Anyway, I could feel it rolling around inside my stomach. Not a pleasant feeling I might add. Being the concerned brother that he is, Simon swims over and asks me what's wrong. When I try to answer, a huge belch comes out of my mouth and passes through the regulator, forming these weird brownish bubbles in the water. Simon, ever the scientist, poked at one to see what it was. That's when it exploded. And boy, did it ever. If Theo hadn't been nearby, Simon might've drowned that day. But now, everyone shall fear the 'Bubble Blowing of Death'." *mad scientist cackle*
